***********************************************************************************************************

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship was created as a result of Operation Iragi Freedom and the global war on terror leaving many children of our active-duty military personal in single-parent households. The funds raised will ensure that higher education will be a reality for these families, with your help.

It is estimated that 11,000 children has lost a parent in the war, and that number continues o grow. The American Legion Family is working to ensure that these children, who want a post-secondary education. will be provided one.

American Legion Riders in Minnesota has formed the Minnesota Legacy Run to gather the funds that has been raised, and to continue the fundraising to reach the goals set of $20 Million Dollars.

What can you do to help?

Well, in 2022 we raised $155,000 for the scholarship. (a history of what we have donated can be found in the FAQ's) To beat that, we need your help. Talk to your local businesses about making a donation. Get in touch with your local American Legion, about doing some fundraising. Reach out to your local media, and talk up the American Legion Legacy Scholarship, and the fundraising we are doing. If we all work together, we can really raise the numbers to make the scholarship self funding.
